We collect the following personal information when you use Room4Life:
- Account details: name, email address and hashed password.
- Check-in data: self-reported energy, fulfilment and overload ratings.
- Journal entries: encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
- Boundaries and life moment settings.
- AI coaching queries and generated responses.
- Payment references (processed by PayFast - we do not store card details).
2. How we use your information
Your data is used solely to provide the Room4Life service: personalised insights, AI coaching, reflections, and subscription management. We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
3. Data security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Journal entries are encrypted at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel.
4. Your rights (POPIA)
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you have the right to:
- Access your personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to the processing of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
You can exercise these rights through the Privacy Centre in your account settings, or by contacting us at the email above.
5. Data export and deletion
You can download all your data in JSON format or permanently delete your account and all associated data from the Privacy Centre at any time.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
